Former Top NASA Official Puts NASA's Ares 1X Test in Context

October 28, 2009 -- NASA has completed its first test test of the rocket system it hopes will eventually replace the space shuttle. One of the many people on hand to view the launch of the Ares 1X test rocket from Kennedy Space Center was Gerry Griffin, who served as Deputy Director of KSC during the beginning of the shuttle program.
