June 23, 2009-- The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and the Lunar Crater Observing and Sensing Satellite (LRO and LCross respectively) entered orbit around the Moon. Along with maps of the Lunar surface and a planned collision between LCross and the Moon, a lot of the excitement still surrounds possible photos of the Apollo landing sites. Depending on how sharp the images from LRO are, it would be interesting to see if it can pick up the "scatter zone" of artifacts tossed out of the lunar module "Eagle" by the Apollo 11 crew.
