May 12, 2009-- The astronauts catch up with Hubble tomorrow, while NASA studies a nearly two foot long series of chips to some heat tiles.

As for launch day, many thanks to Tech Director Rick Jarrett of National Public Radio for taking this nice shot of me and NASA Astronaut Janice Voss. The veteran Shuttle crewmember joined in during our "live" launch coverage at Kennedy Space Center. Voss mentored Atlantis crewmember Megan McArthur and was on hand for the liftoff. It felt like the mid 90 degree range out at the grandstand were we were sitting...hence the headgear!
