May 8, 2009-- Weather briefings begin today for Monday's Atlantis launch. It's good information, but like an NBA basketball game, it's what happens in the final minutes that counts. In other words, I've been to launches with a 90% of bad weather and the Shuttle blasts off, and I recall one launch try with a 100% chance of good weather which was spoiled by a pop-up storm that appeared out of nowhere right over the pad.
