Polk Co. Construction Equipment Auction Feels Effects of Recession February 29, 2009 -- A six-day auction of construction equipment wraps up tomorrow in Polk County. Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers has added an extra day to its February auction, as the slowdown continues in the global construction markets. Still, thousands of buyers from across the country and around the world are making bids on everything from cranes, to pickup trucks, and portable generators at the 75 acre auction site in Davenport. 90.7's David Pitman called up Ritchie Bros. Divisional Manager Gary Seybold to find out just how the recession is being felt at this year's auction.
