Decision 2008: Daytona Beach Shores Part of National Trend To Vote on Lifting Term Limits

October 23, 2008 -- The Volusia County town of Daytona Beach Shores is part of a national trend, including New York City, San Antonio, the Dallas suburb of Rowlett, and others, in voting on whether to modify or eliminate term limits for elected officials. Right now, city commissioners in Daytona Beach Shores are limited to two, four-year terms. Dr. Kevin Wagner, an assistant professor of political science at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, has spent years studying term limits. 90.7's David Pitman asked him why there's now a budding national movement to strike them down.
