Decision 2008: Amendment Eight October 21, 2008 -- Today, we wrap up our series on the proposed amendments to the Florida constitution, with a look at Amendment Eight. It's an attempt to let local governments provide some extra funding for the state's community colleges. From Mid-Florida Public Radio in Gainesville, Rikki Klaus reports. Click here to listen to story. We asked all the community colleges in the Central Florida area for their positions on Amendment Eight. The only response we received was from Seminole Community College. SCC says its board voted last month to support the proposal but that it has no plans to seek a local sales tax increase if the amendment passes.
