Decision 2008: The Causes and Consequences of Uncontested Races

August 15, 2008 -- While most races on the August 26th primary ballot are competitive, there are quite a few that aren't. For example, Orange County Commissioner Bill Segal drew no opponents this time around, and two county school board seats are unopposed. Incumbent state lawmakers Alan Hayes in Volusia county and Paula Dockery in Osceola and Polk counties are also unopposed. Dierdre McNabb, who leads the Orange County League of Women Voters, talks with 90.7's David Pitman about uncontested races.
