Be sure to visit The Museum of Florida Art in Deland for the 4th Biennial Juried Competition. Judged by the director of The Mennello Museum of American Art, Frank Holt, this show includes emerging as well as established artists now through August 24th. Tuesday 7/8

The Gallery at Avalon Island in downtown Orlando is hosting the artist’s reception for David Phillip’s latest exhibit of paintings and sculptures, this coming Friday July 11th from 6 to 9 pm. Be sure to call (407) 803 - 6670 or visit galleryatavalonisland.com for more information.

And tonight you can catch the “Swing Time Jazz Band” for their “Not In The Park” picnic concert at 6:30 pm in the Melbourne Auditorium. And if you haven’t been already you must catch the last few days of “Post Secret” the postcard experiment that has swept the nation. It’s now showing at the Brevard Art Museum through July 13th. There are great options for you theater fans out there this weekend.

First, cool down with the UCF Theatre Conservatory’s performance of “Leading Ladies” a hilarious comedy similar to “Some Like It Hot” playing tonight through July 20th. Call the box office for your tickets at (407) 823 - 1500 or visit theatre.ucf.edu.

Mingle with the artists of central Florida at The Plaza Theatre this Saturday at 6 pm for “Art Fusion”. Watch art come to life before your eyes to the inspiration of live music and don’t worry about going hungry, there will also be food and drinks!
