The Price of Our Thirst: Who's involved and why they are fighting June 23, 2008 -- 90.7's The St. Johns River is the single largest river in the state of Florida. It travels more than 300 miles from its headwaters near Melbourne, through Central Florida and eventually into the Atlantic Ocean near Jacksonville. Recently, the river has become the subject of a legal dispute between Central and North Florida. The issue: whether the St. John's should be tapped for drinking water. Steve Brown explains the nuts and bolts of the disagreement.
