How African Dust Storms Impact Atlantic Hurricanes

(May 22, 2008) -- The official start of hurricane season is just a little more than a week away. 90.7 and WMFE-TV are examining some of the larger issues of the season, as we approach June 1st. Amato Evan is a researcher at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He leads a team that tracks the effects of African dust storms on hurricane formation. 90.7's David Pitman asked him how something so far away can have such an impact so close to home.
