THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS -

Jester Theater's production of Moonlight and Magnolias is at the Garden Theatre in Winter Garden - it's a fictional account of the 5 days David O. Selznick and Victor Fleming spent acting out Gone With the Wind so writer Ben Hecht (who hadn't read the book!) could write the screenplay.  It runs through May 25.

The Orlando International Fringe Festival opens tonight and runs through May 26 with hundreds of plays and an art show.  Anna McCambridge is in charge of Visual Fringe and she promises interesting and provocative art and some surprises on the weekend!

The Orlando Chorale closes its 6th season with Poulenc's Gloria, Sunday at 3 at First United Methodist Church in downtown Orlando.  Also on the program is a world premiere by Nathaniel Barnes.

The Florida Alliance for Arts Education presents a series of forums called Arts in Action, designed to inspire Art's the Sparkleaders in business, healthcare, social service and juvenile justice how the arts can be used outside the classroom.   The Orlando forum on Friday (5/16 at 8 AM at the Orlando Museum of Art) will focus on healthcare with keynote speaker Dr. Deborah German of the new UCF Medical School.  Jan Clanton of Orlando Museum of Art will speak about Art's the Spark, a program OMA originated 10 years ago and is now being used at Florida Hospital Orlando, where Lorraine Zima-Lennon is manager of the hospital's Artist-in-Residence program.  (That program is always looking volunteers - email Lorraine for information.)
