David Brunner and the UCF University Chorus, along with the Women's Chorus, will present PEACEWORKS next Thursday night (11/15) at 7:30 at First United Methodist Church in downtown Orlando.  The concert has classical, contemporary, jazz and pop music all reflecting the theme of peace, along with special readings and poetry read by UCF Theatre professor Kate Ingram.  Special guests are Cameran Powers and Kristina Sophia, a Boulder, Colorado couple who have traveled the Middle East learning traditional Arab music.  The concert is free.

The Winter Season at Seaside Music Theatre includes A Streetcar Named Desire, which closes this weekend, as well as White Christmas, which opens next Thursday.  For ticket information and information on special events and dinners at the theatre, call 1-800-854-5592.

Last week, United Arts of Central Florida present its Arts+ Awards, recognizing arts organizations, volunteers, businesses and other individuals in categories such as arts education, outreach, marketing and special events.  For a complete list of winners, CLICK HERE.


Among the Arts+ winners was Crealde School of Art, winning 1st place in Community Outreach for the Hannibal Square Heritage Center. (btw - it tied for 1st place with the Orlando Philharmonic's Tiny Tots program).  The exhibit, Winter Park Collects Folk Art is at the Heritage Center through December 15.
