Hank Fishkind Oct. 16 -- Property Tax Reform

Oct. 16, 2007 As lawmakers in Tallahssee continue their work on property tax reform, a Senate committee today is expected to hold its first vote on the plan that would double the homestead exemption, allow people to take certain tax breaks with them when they move, and provide discounts for first-time homebuyers. But economist Hank Fishkind is not fan of this plan, and he explained why to 90.7's David Pitman. Editor's Note earlier this year, Fishkind did an analysis of a very similar property tax cut plan on behalf of the Florida Association of Counties, which opposes the proposal.
