In Depth: Central Florida Crime Crisis. SAFE Orlando Task Force Chair Talks About Recommendations, Progress

October 8, 2007 -- Orlando saw a record 49 murders in 2006. In response, the city created the SAFE Orlando Task Force to find ways to bring the crime rate down. Several of the panel's recommendations center on keeping kids off the streets and out of trouble, with ideas like expanded after-school programs and classes that teach health life skills. 90.7's David Pitman asked the chair of the task force, Dr. Stanley Stone, whether the recommendations include anything that hasn't already been tried.
