Orange County Announces First "Green" Building

Aug. 8, 2007 -- Orange County has announced plans to build its first "green" facility. The new sheriff's building on Lake Underhill Road near Rouse, set to open in the summer of 2009, will be also be the first law enforcement office in Central Florida to be certified as environmentally friendly. The county is getting help and guidance from the U.S. Green Building Council, a volunteer organization of environmental experts. The group will be able to point to the new sheriff's office as an example of how to construct an earth-friendly building. 90.7's David Pitman talked with Orange County Capitol Project Manager Tony Aguerrevere about some of the facility's special features.
