Maya Angelou was the keynote speaker Monday night at the Colloquy on Liberal Education and Social Responsiblity in the 21st Century at Rollins College.

Maya Angelou gave the keynote address on the opening of the Rollins College Colloquy on Liberal Education and Social Responsibility in a Global Community Monday night.  Angelou is hailed as a Renaissance woman, who is a poet, author, playwright, historian, educator and performer.

Maya Angelou was only the 2nd poet in U.S. History to write and read an original work for a presidential inauguration (Robert Frost wrote for the Kennedy inaugural; Angelou for the Clinton inaugural).  The Arts Connection's Becky Morgan attended the event and spoke to Ms. Angelou about the poets that influenced her.
