Arts Connection for Saturday, December 16 only A visit to a store featuring arts and crafts from third world artisans, and stories from the archives: Home for the Hanukkahs with the Feldman Dynamic, Jewish singer/songwriter Beth Schafer, and classes to Connect with Music with your baby.
90.7's Judith Smelser reports on Ten Thousand Villages, a store in Winter Park that provides a fair trade outlet for third-world artisans. For the 3rd year, the Feldman Dynamic presents Home for the Hanukkahs, this time at the Shakespeare Center in Loch Haven Park. The reality-theatre event runs each night of the holiday at 5:30pm, through Friday, Dec. 22. This is a re-broadcast of a story first aired in Dec. 2004.
First aired in Dec. 2005, the Arts Connection's Katie Ball talks with contemporary Jewish singer/songwriter, Beth Shafer, about her music. Beth is currently at work on a new CD for 2007, an interfaith project called Build That Bridge. Bill Dudley talks to author Kevin McCarthy about the history of Christmas customs and traditions in Florida. McCarthy is the author of Christmas in Florida.
The UCF Teaching Academy offers a 6-week class for babies and their parents on how to Connect with Music. The next class begins January 16. |
