Canada and Language

June 7, 2006 - One issue connected to the FCAT is the language in which its written, and that's English only. This can present a challenge to children of immigrant families who haven't mastered English, who can be exempted from the FCAT or offered alternate tests. That's not how it's handled in Canada, where school officials have created a controversial solution. 90.7's Pat Duggins travelled to Montreal to hear from both sides.
