'Trash Fish' Promoted as Sustainable Seafood Alternative


July 29th, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando- While seafood may seem plentiful in Florida, environmental advocates and chefs warn some species are in danger of being over fished. 90.7's Matthew Peddie talked with Sheila Bowman from the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch Program, who is visiting Orlando to talk about sustainable seafood. Deland restaurateur Hari Pulapaka also joined the conversation to explain how so called 'trash fish dinners' can help protect over-fished species of seafood.
