Flanked by a dozen teachers voicing their support outside an Orange County School building, Crist said he will focus on the big picture when it comes to education in the state.

“The thing that’s most important to me is that our children get a good, decent education from our hardworking Florida teachers, and that we focus on that like a laser,” Crist said.

Teachers representing the Orange County Classroom Teachers Association and the Florida Education Association were also there. The Florida Education Association officially endorsed Crist for governor.

The visit comes just days after both Crist and Governor Rick Scott submitted their qualifying paperwork for the gubernatorial race.
