Between Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center, with manned missions from Project Mercury to the Shuttle Program, the space coast has played host to NASA's greatest success stories - but also its tragedies.

To reflect on NASA’s triumph, 90.7’s Matthew Peddie revisits a conversation with Apollo 14 Pilot Edgar Mitchell about his trip to the moon’s surface and the challenge astronauts and engineers faced in the wake of Apollo 13.

Also, Matthew Peddie looks back at one of the space program’s biggest disasters - the loss of Space Shuttle Challenger during launch 28 years ago. He revisits a conversation with NASA’s former Director of Public Affairs, and the Voice of NASA, Hugh Harris, about the loss of challenger and the struggle to get back to space after the disaster.
