The Florida Department of Transportation says the trailer was stopped on the tracks at Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Passengers were moved to a second train while the train that hit the trailer was inspected for damage.

Both trains were held at the station until 7 p.m. by police.

The accident delayed service for 2 hours along the entire 32 mile corridor while Longwood police investigated the incident.

In a statement, Olson said the accident was a "sobering reminder to motorists and pedestrians to stay at least 25 feet from the railroad corridor at all times."

"Motorists should never, under any circumstances, try to beat a train, go around a closed gate or park on the tracks at traffic signals or stop signs," said Olson.

He said the SunRail trains travel the corridor with greater frequency and are quicker and quieter than freight trains.
