UCF's Blake Bortles Heads to NFL Draft

May 8, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - Former University of Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles is heading to the NFL.

The 22-year-old Oviedo native declared earlier this year for the National Football League’s draft. Analysts predict he will be picked by a team in the first round.

Bortles led the UCF Knights to a 12-1 season and finished the year off with a win at the Fiesta bowl, the programs first major championship.

Bortles joins a competitive quarterback class this year, including Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater and Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel, also known as Johnny "Football."

NFL analysts predict Bortles will head to either the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, or Cleveland Browns. Former Knight Quarterback Daunte Culpepper played in Minnesota for 7 seasons.

The NFL draft is Thursday evening at 8, with the Houston Texans selecting first.
