Egyptian Artist Talks Art and Revolution During Visit to Flagler College


April 15, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - Flagler College welcomed Egyptian artist and activist Mohamed Abla for a discussion about art and the January 25 Egyptian revolution on Monday.

Abla’s paintings on the revolution often depict the Egyptian Army as a pack of wolves attacking protesters. His work also displays the hope felt in the now-infamous Tahrir Square with views of protests from above the square, colorful banners and flags held high.

90.7’s Carmel Delshad spoke to Abla about his works of art during the revolution, his inspiration for an online gallery, and what he thinks is in store for Egypt in the coming months.
