Memorial Services Planned for Windermere Police Officer

March 24th, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - Funeral plans have been announced for the Windermere police officer fatally shot this weekend. 31-year-old officer Robert German was the second law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty in west Orlando in less than two months.

German was killed early Saturday morning after stopping two teenagers walking down a Windermere road.

The bodies of 18-year-old Brandon Goode and 17-year-old Alexandria Hollinghurst, both of Polk County, were found a short distance away with what appear to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Authorities say they have recovered suicide notes written by Goode and Hollinghurst. The investigation is ongoing.

Windermere Police officials announced Monday that visitation for German is scheduled for Wednesday evening at Northland Church in Longwood, with services Thursday morning at Oaklawn Cemetery.

In early February, Orange County Deputy Jonathan Scott Pine was shot to death while investigating a string of car burglaries, one mile from where Officer German was gunned down.
