Fishkind Commentary: Extreme Winters Can Convince Northerners to Move to Florida

March 11, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - If you feel like you're seeing more tourists than usual for this time of year, or it seems more of your relatives from "up north" are deciding to pay you a visit, it's not your imagination. 90.7's economic analyst Hank Fishkind points out that Central Florida's tourism numbers are at record highs, and airport arrivals and trips to visitor centers are also climbing.

Fishkind says this winter’s extreme cold and plentiful snows have something to do with it, and tells 90.7’s Nicole Creston that harsh weather can not only bring more visitors down to Florida…it can convince them to move to Florida, too.
