Update: Gunman Shot, Killed During Standoff with Police Outside Brevard Courthouse February 28, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - Police have shot and killed the gunman outside the Brevard County Courthouse after a standoff lasting about 4 hours. A city employee confirmed his death. Earlier today, police blocked Stadium Parkway and Judge Fran Jamieson Way outside the courthouse as reports of a man wielding a gun surfaced. An employee of the Brevard County Manager's office confirmed the police activity at the courthouse. The county manager's office is across the street from the courthouse, where the employee says she could see the gunman pacing back and forth. Viera High School and Viera Charter School were on lockdown earlier this morning. |
