The $20 million VA National Simulation Center will train medical professionals in the latest treatments.

Nelson says medical professionals will use simulators in the same way pilots use them.

"When you do it on a simulator that looks like a person and where you can actually see down the mouth and how to get into the lungs with this instrument then it becomes very real."

The Central Florida Democrat says groundbreaking on the simulation center is a bright spot in the hospital’s construction.

The massive new complex has been beset by delays and cost over-runs.

When the hospital finally opens its doors next year it will be more than two years behind schedule.
