Multiple food drop locations will give more than 16-hundred families a chance to pick up food to help get them through the holidays. Volunteers are handing out food at Evans Community  School December 20th, as well as Hungerford, Winegard, Ivey Lane and Cheney elementaries, and the Winter Park 9th Grade Center on December 21st. Second Harvest CEO Dave Krepcho says since Florida is in its harvest season, they’re able to hand out a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables.

“The food that we provide each of the families will provide about 20-25 meals during the holiday season, ” he says.

The food drops are a partnership between Second Harvest Food Bank and Orange County Public Schools, with funding from the Winter Park Health Foundation.
