Investigations Continue Into Death of Chechen Man During FBI Interrogation in Orlando December 13, 2013 | WMFE - State Attorney Jeff Ashton says he expects to conclude his investigation early next year into the death of a Chechen man during an FBI interrogation in Orlando. Ibragim Todashev was under investigation in connection to the Boston bombings. The FBI says he grew violent during an interrogation in May, forcing an agent to shoot him to death. Family attorneys say Todashev was unarmed. They say he was an acquaintance of one of the suspected bombers but was not involved in the attack. Federal and state investigations are underway into his death and whether a criminal violation occurred. Ashton met this week with the Justice Department about the investigations. He says he needs more time to process the information he gained from the meeting. |
