Orlando Magic to Honor Local Legends

November 4, 2013 | WMFE--The Orlando Magic will honor players with a new Hall of Fame, opening this year at the Amway Center. The announcement is part of the basketball team's Silver Season, marking its 25th anniversary.

Vice President Joel Glass says inductees will have more than impressive stats.  "Whether it’s their on-court performance, their loyalty to the franchise, their work in the community -- all of those will be factors as we get ready to unveil the Magic Hall of Fame," he says.

The Magic has yet to announce the first pick for jersey retirement, but it will honor franchise legends throughout the year.

At last Friday’s home opener, the team brought back Tracy McGrady.  Glass says “T-Mac” was one of the first Orlando Magic players to start as a childhood fan.

This Friday, the team will honor Nick Anderson.  The 10-year Magic veteran is still involved with the team off the court.
