Central Floridians Speak Out on Government Shutdown October 1, 2013 | WMFE - The federal government partially shut down after Congress couldn't agree on a funding bill by midnight Monday. 90.7 asked Central Floridians what they think of the impasse. Guy Carlton of Oviedo: "I really think that it's sad grown men can't get along." Zachary Veltheim of Orlando: "I agree with the Affordable Care Act. So I see it as obstructing." Pat Krohn of Orlando: "Our biggest problem is Mr. Obama." Abigail Hirn of Orlando: "The most shocking thing to me is how many unessential employees – I put that in quotes – that are employed by the government." Charles Cooper of Deltona: "It's overhyped. And I mean we work there next to some government contractors, and they don't seem to be particularly alarmed by it, either." |
