September 24th, 2013 | WMFE - The U.S. is facing a government shutdown as Republican lawmakers try a last-ditch effort to defund the Affordable Care Act. To talk about this and other issues in national state and local politics, 90.7's Matthew Peddie speaks with political commentators Dick Batchelor and Lou Frey. Also, More than 60,000 children in Florida have an incarcerated parent. To help them cope with the sadness, anxiety and confusion of having a parent behind bars, the Florida Department of Corrections enlisted the help of Sesame Street and its program "Little Children, Big Challenges". Matthew Peddie speaks with representatives from the Florida Department of Corrections and Sesame street about the program and how it is helping parents and children in Florida.
