Orange County Sheriff's Deputy Injured in Drug Investigation

September 4th, 2013 | WMFE- An Orange County Sheriff's deputy is recovering in hospital after being injured during a drug investigation Wednesday morning.

The officer suffered minor injuries in a scuffle with a man described as being 6 foot tall and weighing 400 pounds.

Sheriff Jerry Demings told reporters 14 people were taken out of the house for questioning- including 8 young women.

“This may spiral into something else," said Demings.

"It appears that this is much more than just a narcotics home, there’s probably something else going on in this house as well.”

Demings said the officer who was injured saw money and drugs in the house before he was pushed out.
