Cocoa Beach Police Discover Pipe Bombs in Home


May 17, 2013 | WMFE - Twelve homes were evacuated in Cocoa Beach today after an anonymous tip led police to a home where they discovered two pipe bombs.

Police also found bomb making supplies, ammunition, and a fully loaded AK-47 magazine. 

Two residents of the home have been detained, according to Cocoa Beach Police officials. One resident was a convicted felon. 

The  Brevard Sheriff's Office is working with Cocoa Beach Police to safely remove the pipe bombs. Cambridge Elementary School and Endeavor Elementary school have been locked down.
