Update: UCF Student Appeared Socially Isolated While Planning Attack, Roommate Says  March 20, 2013 | WMFE - The University of Central Florida student who appears to have planned a campus massacre before committing suicide never talked to family or friends on the phone. That's according to one of his roommates. [Image: James Seevakumaran] Chris Folk lived with James Seevakumaran for a semester and a half. The 22-year-old junior says Seevakumaran never had company in his dorm room and often didn't respond when he tried to talk to him. "I can take the hint if he doesn't want to talk to anyone. I just figured he was a student who wanted to do his time in school and move on." Folk was out of town when Seevakumaran pulled a dorm fire alarm and then shot himself in the head. Authorities found that Seevakumaran had a rifle, hand-gun, explosives, 1,000 rounds of ammunition and more equipment waiting for him in a campus mailroom. Folk says he and his roommates have no idea why Seevakumaran might have planned a massacre. He says they never saw any sign of the weapons or ammunition. |
