Intersection Segment | Mayan Calendar Doesn't End This Friday, Expert Says  December 19, 2012 | WMFE - This Friday is Dec. 21, 2012. That's when part of a more than 5,000-year-long calendar used by the Maya comes to an end. Some people think it's when the world could end. This week on Intersection 90.7's Mark Simpson talked with Robert Sitler, a Stetson University professor and author of the book, "The Living Maya: Ancient Wisdom in the Age of 2012." Humberto Campins, a University of Central Florida professor and asteroid expert, joined the conversation. Sitler started by explaining away some misconceptions about the Mayan calendar.
