Updated: Storms in Texas Delay Endeavour's Final Flight September 17, 2012 | WMFE - The final flight of space shuttle Endeavour from Cape Canaveral to Los Angeles has been postponed for two days because of stormy weather along the planned flight path.
The flight is now scheduled to take off at sunrise, about 7:15, Wednesday morning. Flyovers are still planned along the Space Coast and at NASA facilities in Louisiana and Mississippi but a stop in Houston will be shortened to one day. However NASA says some stops may have to be eliminated due to scheduling. Endeavour is still expected to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday morning. From there, it will be transported through the streets of Los Angeles toward its destination at the California Science Center. Endeavour is the second of NASA's three retired shuttles to find a new home in a museum. |
