In a ruling released Wednesday morning, Judge Kenneth Lester said the motion calling for his disqualification was legally insufficient.

Attorneys for Zimmerman filed a motion last month to dismiss Judge Lester from the second degree murder case.

They said Zimmerman is concerned about his ability to receive a fair trial or a fair Stand Your Ground hearing in Judge Lester's court. They said the court had made "gratuitous, disparaging remarks about Zimmerman's character," in a bond ruling.

Prosecutors said the court was not biased against Zimmerman and granted him bail twice.

Zimmerman is currently out on $1 million bond. He faces a second degree murder charge for shooting 17 year old Trayvon Martin in Sanford. He claims to have acted in self defense.
