Orange County Major Teresa Jacobs announced a target date for restoring the aging Citrus Bowl during her state of the county address. She also touted plans to try and consolidate transportation infrastructure authority.

Jacobs says infrastrucutre projects like Sunrail and the Wekiva Parkway are laying the backbone for future growth.

She says plans are in the works to connect Sunrail with Orlando International Airport, The Orange County Convention Center, and eventually the University of Central Florida, Lake Nona, and Innovation Way.

Jacobs also says the state of  Orange County Government is strong, and that Orange county is emerging from the depths of recession.

She touted the region’s tourism industry as an economic driver noting millions of dollars brought in annually.
