Solar Bears Revived as Orlando Professional Hockey Team

November 17, 2011 | WMFE - After 10 years in hibernation, the Solar Bears professional hockey team is officially back in Orlando. City officials made the announcement yesterday. The Solar Bears will play a 36 game opening season starting in 2012. The Solar Bears will play in a southern division against the Florida Everglades, the South Carolina stingrays, and the Charleston Road Warriors. Games will be played at the new Amway Center with about an 8,000 thousand seat capacity.
