The back-to-back educational events begin Monday with a two-day conference focused on charter schools. The 100 or so exhibitors and several dozen workshops are geared toward teachers and administrators, says Yolanda Miranda Hill with the Florida Department of Education’s School Choice Office. But Wednesday, she says, is all about the parents.

“We’re going to have state and district experts be available to answer questions and provide in-depth information about career academies, magnet schools, home education, charter, virtual, gosh, we have so many different sessions that are going to be taking place,” she says.

Hill says Florida parents are often unaware of the variety of choices available to students.

Both events are taking place at the Doubletree Hotel near Universal Orlando.
