Expressway Authority executive Director Mike Snyder wrote a letter to the Authority’s board saying he stands behind his service, but he realizes his position has become a distraction to the agency. Snyder has been under scrutiny for some of his financial decisions.

Mayor Jacobs called for Snyder to be fired late last month after the credit rating agency Moody’s downgraded the Expressway Authority bond rating to a negative outlook.

In a statement Monday, Mayor Jacobs called Snyder’s resignation quote “the right thing to do,” and says the Expressway Authority’s next move should be to find a new leader who can improve the authority’s current financial risks.
