Intersection Segment | Walt Disney World, 40 years later


Oct. 19, 2011 | WMFE - Walt Disney World opened in Central Florida 40 years ago this month. Today it is the world's largest amusement complex. It draws an estimated 17 million visitors annually and contributes nearly 3 percent to the state's gross domestic product. This week on "Intersection" 90.7's Mark Simpson spoke with Rollins College professor Richard Foglesong about where Central Florida would be without Disney. Foglesong is the author of the book, "Married to the Mouse: Walt Disney World and Orlando." He says it's not possible to overstate Disney's impact on Central Florida.
