Mr. Obama offered some new details on his jobs bill to a receptive audience of contributors at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Orlando. He said his $447 billion legislation would put unemployed people back to work rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure – projects like roads, bridges and schools.

The president added that the bill would be paid for largely by closing tax loopholes and raising tax rates on some wealthier Americans. And he struck back at Republicans who are accusing him of “class warfare.”

"If asking somebody like me, who’s done very well, to pay the same tax rate as a plumber or a teacher or a bus driver, makes me a warrior for the middle class, I’ll wear that as a badge of honor," he said.

After his appearance at the downtown Sheraton, Mr. Obama attended a private fundraiser at the home of prominent local attorney John Morgan.
