Economist Points to Signs of Improving Outlook for Central Florida

Sept. 27, 2011 | WMFE - Florida has gotten plenty of discouraging economic news in the past few weeks with unemployment still above 10 percent, consumer confidence down and economists warning of a second recession.

But economic analyst Hank Fishkind sees some silver linings around those dark clouds. He says there’s been a drop off in new unemployment claims and that news coupled with a positive report on hotel occupancy could predict a healthier economy for Central Florida during the upcoming winter.
