Project Expands to Curb Domestic Violence Murders

Aug. 26, 2011 | WMFE - A project that's trying to prevent domestic violence in Orlando is expanding. It's an effort to stem a recent increase in domestic violence murders. That spike comes amid reports other types of homicides and violent crimes are on the decline in Central Florida. The Orlando Police department announced this week it's teaming up with Orange County's domestic violence shelter, Harbor House to expand a program known as "Project Courage" into Orlando's Malibu Groves neighborhood.


90.7’s Tom Parkinson spoke with Harbor House CEO Carol Wick to talk about the initiative and asked her what’s behind the increase in domestic violence.
