Mica says He'll Compromise on FAA Sticking Points  Congressman John Mica August 12, 2011 | WMFE - US House Transportation Committee Chairman John Mica is responding to questions about his role in the recent funding debate that kept the Federal Aviation Administration shuttered for weeks. Mica blames Congressional democrats for hold ups in the debate over cutting in the Essential Air Service program that serves rural airports. This week the union that represents flight attendants staged protests at Mica's Florida offices over the lack of a permanent funding measure for the FAA. Congressman Mica says the union is being manipulated by Democrats. Listen to Congressman Mica's comments here. The union says it is concerned about GOP efforts to repeal rules that make it easier for airline employees to form a union. Mica says he’s willing to compromise on that issue and rural air service funding along with the number of flights moving in and out of Washington DC’s airports. But he’s not letting democrats off easy. He blames their control of Congress for four years for the systemic funding problems. The FAA’s temporary funding runs out on September 16.
