Measles Case Confirmed in Orange County

May 13, 2011 | WMFE - Orange County health officials have confirmed a local case of measles. The health department wants doctors to be on the lookout for symptoms, after the disease was confirmed in a school-age child.

Officials say they have traced the patient’s movements during the time when he or she would have been contagious. They say the child went to a function at a private school during that time, so they sent a letter to the school so it can notify others who may have been exposed.

The health department also alerted a hospital and a local doctor’s office, both of which the child visited during the contagious period.
